My Story

There was always a part of me — sometimes a small, quiet part, sometimes a fiery, screaming part — that questioned the beliefs keeping me stuck. I’m Leah Martinson. For too long, I’ve witnessed how our unprocessed emotions and lifestyle choices manifest in our bodies and impact our well-being. It all began with my own personal journey.
I was born with a degenerative eye disease that resulted in a gradual loss of eyesight. I faced significant childhood trauma and numerous other barriers as an adult. All the while, I didn’t realize how much my beliefs and lifestyle choices were affecting both my physical and emotional health.

It seemed that I had to fight harder than others, just to do the bare minimum. My self-deprecating beliefs and low expectations led to feelings of anxiety and depression, which spawned unhealthy coping behaviors like binge drinking, comfort eating, and other ways of numbing the pain. These self-destructive habits greatly impacted my physical health. My mental health also continued to suffer, even when these behaviors felt good in the moment. At one point, I was waking up each morning feeling physically sick, anxious and depressed. That’s when I knew it was time to make a drastic change.

Support and Insight

The self-discovery needed for health and happiness often begins as a lonely path, but it doesn’t have to stay that way. As I found the support I needed to rebuild a healthy, nourishing life, my inner peace and self-confidence grew. My optimal combination of sleep, nutrition, physical activity, mindfulness, and spiritual practice is unique, as is yours. You, too, can learn to move through your life with greater self-awareness, ease, and confidence. The best part? It doesn’t require years of self-searching!

Do I always have it all figured out? No! Every day, I choose how I want to live. Yet, there are days when all the techniques in the world don’t help, and I binge Netflix and potato chips instead. On those days, the most important thing for me to remember is that I still have value as a whole person. Setbacks or slipups don’t take that away

Testimonials

“I’ve spent years in traditional ‘talk therapy’ and experienced more change within just a few weeks of working with Leah, than the decade prior. She is exceptional at balancing listening and supporting with concrete tools and actions. Her approach is affirming and encouraging, and she is truly skilled at what she does. I would recommend Leah to anyone seeking greater insights into the space between where we are and where we want to be as humans. Her affirmations that we are ever-changing, and that mental health is an un-linear process, provide the openness and guidance for meaningful and transformational work. Coming to Leah is truly entering a partnership, to live with compassion and grace for ourselves and others.”

Amelia

“I didn’t even really know the difference between coaching and counseling when I started working with Leah, but I have come to understand that coaching with an integrative health expert gives you access to the largest possible set of ideas and tools. Leah offers a range of things to try, without judgement or pressure, just support and compassion. This has given me the opportunity to learn that the tools we need to live our best lives will be ever-changing. Building a broad set of approaches to support the health of my mind and body with Leah has given me the flexibility I needed to choose the right tool for the moment – whether it is meditation, a nap, or reaching out to a friend.”

Mia

"Leah was my coach for nearly a year. She is just great, direct, supportive, and brings humor and some healthy and much-needed irreverence into coaching. she helped me to come to important insights and find deeper spiritual grounding, on my own terms. And she made coaching fun! I couldn't recommend Leah more."

Betsy

“My first few sessions with Leah provided me with more breakthroughs and tools than countless years of therapy ever did... She is a deep listener and truly gifted at coaching you towards your own goals. I cried, I laughed, I wept tears of joy at feeling seen and validated, but most of all, I left our time together feeling empowered. If any part of you feels curious about working with a health coach, Leah is your person. Working with Leah was one of the best decisions I’ve made, and I could not recommend her more.”

Her thoughtful, practical approach helps me bring out the best in myself and reminds me to be kind in the face of my weaknesses. She has helped me find ways to better leverage and love myself.”
